Obituary for Eileen Fogerty Kircher
Eileen Fogerty Kircher, 56, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home in Irmo, SC.
Born May 21, 1961 in Peoria, IL to Betty and Tom Fogerty, Eileen graduated from Bergan High School in 1980. After earning Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Eastern Illinois University, Eileen worked for cardiac rehabilitation programs in Florida and in South Carolina. Numerous patients became Eileen’s lifelong friends and advocates. Her most recent employment was with the Lexington Medical Center in Columbia, SC.
On November 29, 1991 Eileen married Mickey Kircher. They are the proud parents of Meghan Michele, Kelly Patrick, and Patrick Michael. The family are parishioners of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Chapin, SC. Eileen enjoyed helping her many patients at Lexington Medical Center; and loved attending her children’s tennis and wrestling matches, cross country races, and soccer games. A life-long animal lover, Eileen volunteered at Columbia area shelters.
Surviving Eileen are two brothers, Patrick (Nancy) Fogerty of Parker, CO; Timothy (Stacy) Fogerty of St. Louis, MO; one brother-in-law, Dave Lynch; and three sisters, Michele (Kevin) McGinn of Orlando, FL; Maureen Fogerty of Peoria, IL; Cecilia (Matt) Kelly of Orlando FL. Over twenty nieces and nephews will carry loving, funny “Aunt Eileen” stories into the future.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Tom Fogerty; one sister, Suzanne Fogerty Lynch; and one brother, Matthew Mark Fogerty.
Eileen’s family is grateful to the many friends and co-workers who helped uplift the Kirchers during Eileen’s more than three years’ battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 between the hours of 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Recitation of the rosary will take place at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with an additional visitation being held 30 minutes prior to mass. Father Thomas Taylor will officiate and interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
