Obituary for Edward A. Ambrosch

EAST PEORIA - Edward A. Ambrosch, 84, of East Peoria passed away at 6:29 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Proctor Hospital surrounded by his family. Edward was born July 4, 1929, in Joliet, IL, to John and Hannah (Brandstatter) Ambrosch. He married his sweetie, Marjorie White, on June 9, 1951, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Peoria. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2012. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Jacob Ambrosch; and one brother, William Ambrosch. Edward is survived by two sons, Rick (Cyndi) Ambrosch of East Peoria and Doug (Kelli) Ambrosch of Germantown Hills; four grandchildren, Alissa and Sadie Ambrosch of East Peoria, Josh Ambrosch of Muscatine, IA, and Jared Ambrosch of Germantown Hills; one brother, John Ambrosch; and one sister, Mary Jean Ambrosch. Edward attended St. Bernard’s Grade School and Woodruff High School, where he excelled in football. He was drafted into the Army and served during the Korean War, attaining the rank of master sergeant. Edward worked as a carpenter foreman for over 40 years, mostly for Becker Brothers Construction Company, retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Fr. David Richardson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the visitation. Further visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the Mass on Wednesday. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials may be made for Masses in his honor or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to
