Obituary for Duane R. Greenway
Peoria- Duane R. Greenway, age 75, of Peoria, passed away at 11:05 AM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Born October 14, 1940 in Peoria, Illinois, he was a son of the late Glenn and Evelyn Mammen Greenway. On January 16, 1960, he married the love of his life, Margaret J. Anthony, in South Mills, North Carolina. Duane honorably served in the United States Navy during peace time . He worked as a machinist at Hysters for 16 years and was a machinist at Kemp Manufacturing for 16 years. Duane was a member of the Hanna City Sportsman Club and Giant Goose Ranch in Canton. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include Duane’s wife Margaret of Peoria; one daughter, Debbie (Kelly) Kromphardt of Naperville, Ill.; three sons, Gregg (Maureen) Greenway of Ottawa, Ill, Randy (Patty) Greenway, of Peoria, Ill and Roger Greenway of Washington, Ill.; eight grandchildren; Brittany, Nicholas, Zachary, Abbey, Adam, Emily, Cody, and Natalie, and five special people who are like family; Ba, Loan, Megan, Mitchell, and Emma.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 7:00 PM at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Reverend David Kipfer will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services on Wednesday. Military Honors will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers memorials in Duane’s memory may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or OSF Hospice.
