Obituary for Dorothy M. Seyller-Yentes

PEORIA-Dorothy M. Seyller-Yentes, 86, of Peoria, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Manor Court of Peoria. She was born on April 4, 1923 in Washburn, IL to Walter and Kathryn McEntee McFarlin. She first married Duffield J. Seyller, Jr. on May 18, 1946 in Peoria. He passed away on June 6, 1976 in Peoria. She then married Dale Yentes on December 30, 1983 in Peoria. He passed away on January 2, 2003 in Morton. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Frank McFarlin and one sister, Mary Brown. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Michael) Neese of Woodstock, IL and Christine (Jack) Duke of Edwards, IL one son, Duffield J. III (JoAnn) Seyller of Harvard, IL; thirteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She first worked for Bellevue School District and then worked for CEFCU. Dorothy was a graduate of Woodruff High School. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, past Board member of the Catholic High School Board, longtime member and past President of the Catholic Women’s League of Peoria, a 50 year member of Timber Lake Country Club and she was also an avid golfer. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Dustin Schultz officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday at Wright & Salmon Mortuary with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at the mausoleum. Entombment in the mausoleum will follow the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peoria Notre Dame High School Foundation or Peoria Catholic Women’s League.
