Obituary for Dorothy Jewel Barrath
Dorothy Jewel Barrath, age 100, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL.
Dorothy was born on May 29, 1922, in Poplar Bluff, MO, a daughter of Ida Mae Klaining and Harry Arthur Hoover.
Dorothy married Rene’ Barrath in 1940 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on April 5, 2006.
Dorothy was the Owner and Operator of Dorothy’ Flowers in Bartonville in the 1960-70s. Dorothy is an example of a life well lived. She got to celebrate her 100th birthday with all her beloved family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Georgette Pacyga of Dunlap and son Paul (Kay) Barrath, four grandchildren, Lynnette (Craig) Hacker of Peoria, Suzette (Peter) Dolter of Prairie Grove, IL, Mark Barrath of Iowa and Pam (Kevin) Wayman of Colorado, as well as4 great-grandchildren, Nick, Carter, Trent, Rylan Dolter.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 7 sisters and son-in-law, Gene Pacyga.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11 AM, with Fr. Patrick Henehan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at Hettinger Hall.
Private family burial will follow.
Memorials may be made for Masses in Dorothy’s name.
