Obituary for Dorothy Elizabeth Becker

PEORIA Dorothy Elizabeth Becker, 88, of Peoria passed away at 12:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
Dorothy was born on May 4, 1927, in Albany, N.Y., to the late Wyman Windslow and Minetta (Mesick) Kelly. She married Herman E. Becker on Mar. 30, 1946, in Albany, N.Y. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2012, in Dunlap.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers.
She is survived by one son, Herman (Priscilla) of Tennessee; two daughters, Nancy Perry of Peoria and Tracy (Bob) Miller of Dunlap; four grandchildren, Darren (Katie) Young and Nicole, Kelly, and Jeffrey Miller; one great-grandchild, Donevan Young; and one sister, Florence Drapou of Greeneville, Tenn.
Dorothy was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for over 10 years in Albany, N.Y., and was an active member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Peoria.
She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved spending time with her family. She loved church, gardening, and being outside enjoying nature.
A memorial Mass will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church with Rev. Jenny Replogle and Rev. Jonathan Thomas officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be in the church columbarium following the Mass. Family will greet friends at a reception following the burial. Wright Salmon Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church or Illinois Cancer Care on Wood Sage Road, Peoria, Ill.
