Obituary for Dolores S. Lauderbaugh

PEORIA-Dolores S. Lauderbaugh, 94, of 7019 Galena Rd., formerly of 935 Loire Ct., died on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 10:27 a.m. at Lutheran Hillside Village. Born February 9, 1913 in Beemer, NE to Henry and Stella Folda Sanders. She married Howard E. Lauderbaugh on August 4, 1951 in Omaha, NE. He died November 23, 1983 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one brother, David H. Sanders on November 18, 1989 in Douglas, NE and one sister, Marcella Graves on December 30, 2006 in Tucson, AZ. She is survived by Lewis (Sylvia) Lauderbaugh, brother-in-law, of York, NE; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was an educator with Peoria School District #150 for over forty years and last taught music for twenty-seven years at Woodruff High School. She retired in 1976. She was a graduate of Wayne State Teachers College, Wayne, NE, and earned a Master’s Degree in fine arts from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA. She was a member of Altrusa Club, American Association of University Women, Peoria Women’s Club, Reserve Officers Wives of Peoria Reserve Officers Association, National Music Association and Illinois Music Association. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peoria. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic church in Peoria Heights with Msgr. William A. Watson officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes before the mass at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded with committal services at American Mausoleum following the memorial mass. Arrangements are by Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Peoria Heights. Tributes and condolences may be submitted to
