Obituary for Deborah Sue O'Neil
Deborah Sue O’Neil, 64, of Chillicothe, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 8:20 am at Country Comfort Retirement Homes in Elmwood.
Born March 16, 1958 in Peoria to James and Barbara (Stimeling) Eaton, she married Michael O’Neil on June 22, 1985 in Peoria.
She is survived by her husband along with three children, Jayson (Jennifer Duffy) O’Neil of Dunlap, Jessica (Curtis) Madrigal of Peoria, and Jared O’Neil of Peoria. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Braxton, Ellie, Jack, Clara, and Joanna as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Her father, James Eaton of Olney, two brothers, Michael (Leona) Eaton of Kentucky and Darryl (Jennifer) Eaton of Peoria and one sister, Kathy (Austin) Shaw of Kentucky also survive.
Deb was preceded in death by her mother Barbara.
Among being a lover of reading, history, puzzles, and all things antique, she was also a devoted wife and loving mother that spread joy and laughter to family and strangers alike. She enjoyed sitting on the porch and feeling nature's breeze and the warmth of the sun on her skin. She had a passion for music, dancing, bowling, and gardening, with lilies, pansies, lilacs, and roses being some of her favorites. Deb will forever be remembered as a woman full of love, who would’ve shared her love unconditionally with her grandchildren, whom she would have adored.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Peoria, with Fr. Patrick Henehan officiating. Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2022 at St. Jude Catholic Church's Hettinger Hall from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be half an hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
