Obituary for David G. Heinz
David G. “Dave” Heinz of Edwards, IL, died on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL, surrounded by family.
David was born in Peoria, IL on June 23, 1935 to Bernard and Dorothy (Cramer) Heinz. He married Phyllis Hanley in Kickapoo, IL on November 16, 1957.
David is survived his wife, Phyllis and their children, Cathy (Greg) Happ of Edwards IL, James (Karleen) Heinz of Peoria, IL, Joseph Heinz of Edwards, IL, Ann (Michael) French of Brimfield, IL, Patricia (Thomas) Unger of Boise, ID, John (Kerry) Heinz of Dunlap, IL, and Michael (Melinda) Heinz of Sparland, IL, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Jeanne Speck of Peoria, IL. He is proceeded in death by his parents, 1 sister, 1 brother and son, Timothy.
David spent his entire life farming on the family farm in Edwards, IL. First with his dad and later with sons, Joseph and John.
He graduated from Spalding High School in Peoria, IL and was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kickapoo. IL.
The Heinz family extends a huge thank you to the nurses at Richard Owens Hospice Home for the loving care he received during his last days.
Funeral Mass will be on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Kickapoo, with a one hour prior visitation. Fr. James Pankiewicz will officiate and burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Church in Kickapoo IL or OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.
