Obituary for Dee Heffron
PEORIA ~ Darlene “Dee” Heffron, 87, of Peoria, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Grandview Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Peoria.
Born March 19, 1935 in Peoria to William and Ellen (Larkin) Taft, she married Frank Marjanovich in 1952. She later married Pattrick Heffron in 1974. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2021 in Peoria. She also was preceded by her daughter, Laura Lasher and her sister, Mary Lou.
Surviving are her son, Mark (Ellen) Marjanovich; her daughter, Sandra Carnes; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Marie; and several nieces and nephews.
Dee was employed by Great Central Insurance and Mutual Benefit for many years.
She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, where she attended and taught Bible Study and taught Children’s Ministry for several years.
Dee was a beautiful, loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put everyone else first. She loved Jesus and was tender, compassionate, forgiving and always smiling.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Rev. John Hopwood will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and entombment will follow.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
