Obituary for Daniel "Rocket" J. Hanley

Edwards- Daniel “Rocket” J. Hanley passed away at 8:24pm on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at OSF in Peoria, IL.

He was born July 27th, 1961 a son to John J. and Caryl (Noonen) Hanley. Daniel was a member of St. Mary's Church in Kickapoo. He was an honored member of the Navy, receiving several awards and medals including two bronze stars and fighting in Desert Storm. He was an avid fisher and hunter, and could make friends with anyone. His life motto was “Life is good in the neighborhood.”

Survivors include his father, John J. Hanley, one sister Dawn (Aaron) Berg of Groveland, IL, one brother David Hanley of Danville, IL, nephew Marcus (Samantha) Hanley of Kickapoo, IL, three nieces Anna, Kylie, and Chrissa Berg, and great niece and nephew Teagan and Elijah Hanley. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Caryl, and two brothers, Donald and Dean Hanley.

Graveside services will be held Friday, April 13th at 10:30am at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo, IL. Father Joe Dondanville will officiate.
