Obituary for Daniel Joseph Seiler

PEORIA-Daniel Joseph Seiler, 50 of Peoria, passed away at 9:05 p.m. on Monday, June 26, 2006 at his residence. Born on June 19, 1956 in Peoria to William L. and Patricia Kelly Seiler. He married Dawn Welcher on August 1, 1992 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are six children, Mary Frances Seiler, Anthony Daniel Seiler, Thomas Alexander Seiler, Daniel J. Seiler, II and Ryne Owen Beebe all at home, and Lindsey (Dan) Debert of St. Louis, MO; one granddaughter, Savannah Debert of St. Louis, MO; sisters and brothers, Carol Reynolds of Dunlap, David (Darcy) Seiler of Peoria Heights, Toni (Dan) Cusack, Trish (Dave) Crusen, Chris (Ed) Miller, Nancy (Tom) Faley all of Peoria, Mary (Chet) Carrara of Davenport, IA, Bill (Melinda) Seiler of Chillicothe, and Lisa (Kurt) Swardenski of Ada, MI and Colleen (Tom) Rettig of Mahomet, IL; forty nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Stu Welcher. He was worked in maintenance at Columbia Grade School for nine years and later was head of maintenance at Kingman Grade School for two years. He also was a bartender at Jim’s Steakhouse. He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #427 Third Degree Spalding Council, and union member of District 150. He was a former member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and it’s Men’s Club for numerous years. Dan had cancer for 3 years and put up a fight. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death. A special thanks to the Children’s Home and Crittenden Center for their love and support to the Seiler Children. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Bernard Church with Rev. James Pallardy officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the church and 30 minutes before the mass at the church. Wright & Salmon Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Education Fund for his children thru Red Brand Credit Union or Children’s Home Behavioral Health.
