Obituary for Daniel Healy Connolly

PEORIA-Daniel Healy Connolly, 50, of Peoria, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on December 25, 2009, surrounded by his father, stepmother, brother, cousin and friends at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Hospital. Dan was born August 8, 1959 to Michelle and Joseph Connolly in St. Paul, MN, the fourth of seven children. The family moved to Peoria in 1967. Dan is survived by his father, Joe, stepmother, Cari, both of Peoria; one sister, Michelle (Don) Higgins of Mapleton, IL; five brothers, Pat (Joy) of Peoria, Tom (Marilyn) of Indianapolis, Jim (Martha) of Mondovi, WI, Paul of San Francisco, CA and Tim (Jonie) of Princeville; and his godmother and aunt, Mary Connolly of St. Paul, MN; Dan also enjoyed fourteen nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother. Dan attended Richwoods High School and moved to California in 1979. He was self-employed in the restoration and repair business from 1979 to current. He had an unusual interest and ability repairing appliances and was hired as an apprentice at age 14 by a local appliance repair service company. He loved animals and usually had one or two pets around home. Cremation rights have been accorded. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Thomas The Apostle Church in Peoria Heights on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Taylor and Fr. Michael Adrie officiating. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 9 a.m. Burial of ashes will be in Resurrection Cemetery immediately following Mass. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of local arrangements.
