Obituary for Daniel Dwyer
Daniel P. Dwyer, 65, of Peoria, IL passed away on October 6, 2018.
He was born June 1, 1953 in Peoria, IL at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center to Pat and Helen Dwyer who preceded him in death.
Dan was a proud alumni of Saint Mark Catholic Grade School and Spalding Institute in Peoria, IL. In 1972, he joined the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1976. Daniel graduated from Illinois State University in Normal.
Dan worked in radio for WGLC “The World’s Greatest Little City” in Mendota, IL.
In Peoria, Dan worked for Community Workshop and Training Center (CWTC) for 15 years. Dan loved to sing and celebrate his Irish heritage, cheer on the Cubs and Notre Dame football and tell cheesy jokes.
Surviving are three sisters, Maureen (Marty) McGann of Peoria, Colleen (Kevin) O’Donnell of Door County, WI. and Patty Dwyer (Mike Bransfield) of Chicago; two brothers, Kevin of Lebanon, PA and Tom (Peggy) of West Peoria; and thirteen nieces and nephews and one great niece and one great nephew.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday at Wright and Salmon Mortuary with recitation of the rosary at 6:30 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Saint Mark Catholic Church, officiated by Monsignor Brian Brownsey. Further visitation will be 30 minutes before Mass at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Community Workshop and Training Center and Saint Mark Catholic School in Peoria.
