Obituary for Lorraine Kenny
PEORIA ~ Lorraine Kenny, 92, of Peoria, passed away at 12:53 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Buehler Home in Peoria.
Born December 14, 1930 in Alexis, Illinois to Harold and Thelma (Gibson) Noonan, she married Thomas S. Kenny on November 24, 1951 in Alexis. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1993.
Surviving are one son, Thomas Kenny of Lexington, Kentucky; two daughters, Peggy (Paul) Adelmann of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Joan Meyer of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Hanna of Alexis; and two brothers, Roger (Wynette) Noonan of Orlando, Florida and Dennis (Judy Peters) Noonan of Tucson, Arizona.
Lorraine was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria. She enjoyed playing golf and bowling and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League. She also enjoyed playing Mah Jongg and watching movies. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In 1972, she started working as an administrative assistant for WIESE Planning & Engineering in Peoria and continued working there until her retirement in 1994.
Her funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Father Stephen Willard will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Peoria.
