Christine Augusta Krasner, age 59, was called by God to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. She passed away on Wednesday, September 8th 2021 at UnityPoint Health Methodist Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.
Christine Augusta Krasner was born on January 25th, 1962 in Moline, Illinois to Patricia West Krasner and Gilbert Laverne Deal. They survived. Christine was later adopted by Arthur Krasner. Surviving are her Mother, Patricia Darlene Krasner of Peoria; her sister, Kathy Utley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her brother, Bryan Krasner of Los Angeles, California; her Daughter Margo Trapper of Farmington, Illinois, her son Adam Krasner, East Peoria, Illinois, her son Aaron Krasner, Peoria, Illinois; her beloved partner of 25 years, Jimmy Cattledge, of Peoria; Her niece Jennifer Utley Raziq, of Colorado Springs, her niece Sarah Patricia Christine Utley, St. Paul, MN, her nephew Bryan Utley and his partner Tim Daly of Burlington, VT her nephew Freddie Sparks of Rock Island, Illinois; and 12 grandchildren, Destiny Marie Krasner (Rebecca Meyer), Treyon Carves, Andre Tubbins, Isaiah Tubbins, Elijah Tubbins, Pierre Silas Jr. (PJ), Brandy Cheney, Faith Krasner, Brooklyn Krasner, Brianna Nicole Trapper, James Fehr and Leah Den. Christine was preceded in death by her adopted father, Arthur Krasner, her sister, Pamela Darlene Sparks, her daughter, Pamela Rose Krasner, her grandson, Glen Cheney.
Christine grew up in Rock Island, Illinois and moved to Peoria, Illinois at the age of 14. She was very close to her sister, Pam Krasner Sparks. She loved going camping with her family and friends. She was a lifelong collector of dolls. She loved watching old movies and one of her favorite movies was “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. She loved to collect dolls and memorabilia of old movie stars, like Marilyn Monroe, Shirley Temple and Judy Garland. She was a Michael Jackson fan all her life.
Christine loved her children and grandchildren. Sadly, her daughter Pamela Rose Krasner, passed away in 2020. Christine deeply mourned the death of her daughter. Christine is remembered for her caring and compassion for others, her wonderful sense of humor, according to her son, Aaron, she was a great cook, she loved nostalgia, Christmas and her family. She loved her partner, James Cattledge (Jimmy) who were together for 25 years. Jimmy was with her when she took her last breath. Jimmy and her son, Aaron were each holding Chris’s hand as she passed into God's loving arms.
She was proud of all of her children and she loved to brag about them all the time. After the death of her daughter, Pamela Rose, her sister Kathy Utley would call her from Colorado every day to check up on her. Kathy and Chris would comfort each other and laugh with each other until the very end of Christine's life. Her mother Pat Krasner said that Chris would often come over to help her around the house and with yard work. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother and friend.
Christine was baptized as a baby in the Catholic Church, she attended Catholic Mass remotely, and was given her last rites.
The family would like to thank the Cattledge family, Katie Cattledge(deceased), Cisha Cattledge, Jimmy Cattledge and Tony for the loving care for her over the past 8 years.
There will be a memorial mass for Christine at St. Bernards Catholic Church, 509 E Kansas St, Peoria, IL on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at 1:30 pm and all are welcome. The Cattledge family will be hosting a “Celebration of Life” with a barbecue at Detweiler Riverside immediately following the Catholic Mass.
