Obituary for Cecilia "CeeCee" Stickelmaier

BRIMFIELD~ Cecilia “Cee Cee” Stickelmaier, 71, of Brimfield, passed away at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at her residence.
 
Born February 13, 1950 to Harold “Casey” and Kathryn (Bienemann) Schmitt, she married David Stickelmaier on June 27, 1980.  He survives.
 
Also surviving are one daughter, Kasey (James) McMurray of Peoria; three grandchildren, Hayley McMurray, Dan McMurray and Jana McMurray; one great-grandson, Mason Pickett; three brothers, Casey (Debbie Joy) Schmitt, Bob (Debbie Lea) Schmitt and Mark (Darlis) Schmitt; two sisters, Becky (Sebastian) Arrigo and Nellie (Russell) Burrell; two brothers-in-law, James (Mary) Stickelmaier and Phil (Berna) Stickelmaier; and two sisters-in-law, Julie (Gerry) Kirchgessner and Ann (Paul) Horst.  She also leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
 
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Bowers, brother-in-law, Paul Bowers and sister-in-law, Judy Stickelmaier
 
Cee Cee previously taught at Pleasant Hill Grade School and St. Mary’s of Kickapoo for 25 years, before retiring in 2015.  Teaching was her true calling and she loved all of her students.
 
Her warm smiles and loving hugs could brighten anyone’s day.
 
Cee Cee most enjoyed trips with David, pool time with the grandkids, beach trips, especially with the Tybee girls, tending to her yard, praying and living out her faith daily. 
 
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Jerry and Kathy McShane for their guidance and friendship.
 
Her funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kickapoo. Father James Pankiewicz will officiate.  Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary in Peoria. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church.  Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Kickapoo.
 
Cee Cee’s unfinished goal was to help guide her great-grandson Mason through his autism journey. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to assist and benefit Mason’s autism education, therapy, and support. Checks can be made out to the “Cecilia Stickelmaier Memorial Fund”.
