Obituary for Carolyn M. (Hassett) Ennis
Peoria- Carolyn M. (Hassett) Ennis, age 73, of Peoria, passed away at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born December 09, 1943 in Logansport, Indiana, she was a daughter to Carl John and Theodora (Watkins) Hassett. On June 1, 1968 she married George Ennis in Terre Haute, Indiana. He survives. Carolyn received her bachelors’ degree from Indiana State University, and worked as a Medical Technologist for the majority of her life first at OSF St. Francis Medical Center and later at Methodist Hospital.
Survivors include her husband George of Peoria; two children, Aaron Christopher (and Ashley Webb) Ennis of Colorado and Elise (and Chad) Carlson of Bartonville, Illinois; two grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth ( and Carrie) Jefferson and Dylan Andrew Lotz; one brother James (and Susan Misini) Hassett of Florida; one sister Barbara Hassett (and Hal) Willis of Long Beach, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Robert Hassett.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 between the hours of 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church with an additional visitation one hour prior to mass. Msgr. Brian Brownsey will officiate. Cremation rights will be accorded following services and burial will follow in Resurrection Mausoleum at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Peoria Area Food Bank or Westmark Food Pantry.
