Obituary for Carole Krei
Peoria- Carole Krei, passed away 1:12 PM, Friday, December 16, 2016 in Peoria, IL, surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 8, 1930 in Marietta, IL, a daughter of George and Muriel (Miller) James. She married Carl “Duke” Krei on September 24, 1955 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Melba Hudson and Margie Lounsberry, and one brother; Fenton James.
Carole is survived by one daughter; Carla (Jerry) Stokowski and one grandson; Joseph Carl Stokowski.
She was raised in Canton, IL and graduated from Canton High in 1948. She worked in the Caterpillar Treasury Department and later she was a bookkeeper at Associated Surgical Group, retiring in 1995. She was a member of University United Methodist Church.
Carole loved to spend time with her family. She was always cheerful and had a loving smile. She will be remembered for her kindness and caring for her family and friends.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with a half hour prior visitation. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carole’s name may be made to OSF St. Francis Hospice or the donor’s choice.
