Obituary for Carl T. Snyder Jr.
PEORIA – Carl T. Snyder, Jr., 95, of Peoria passed away at 3:50 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2014, at Snyder Village in Metamora. Carl was born on July 28, 1919, in Peoria to Carl T. Sr. and Minnie (Sweety) Snyder. He married Gertrude T. Holtschult on June 24, 1942, in Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife of Peoria; three sons, Steve (Ruth) Snyder of Dunlap, Tom (Linda) Snyder of Rome, Ill., and Dan (J’Lynn) Snyder of Laura, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Kate, Elizabeth, and James. Carl was a 1938 graduate of Peoria Central. He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran. He later was a painter, working out of Painter’s Local #157. There will be no funeral service. A visitation will be from 2-3 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2014, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials may be made to Snyder Village.
