Obituary for Beverly A. Templeton
Peoria- Beverly A. Templeton, age 63, of Peoria, passed away at 1:08 AM on Friday, May 27, 2022, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
Born April 12, 1959 in Gibson City, IL, a daughter to Edward and Vira (Frampton) Dean. Beverly graduated from the University of Illinois with her Bachelor of Arts. On November 17, 1984 she married Scott Templeton at St. Edmunds Church in Watseka, IL and together they cherished 37 years. Beverly worked for the State of Illinois in the Department of Human Services for over 35 years. In 2019, as the Associate Director, she earned the Distinguished Employee award. She devoted a large part of her life helping others. Beverly was a devout catholic and an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a member of the church choir, several prayer groups, as well as a cantor for numerous masses. She was heavily involved in the Peoria Cursillo Community particularly the Prison Ministry Cursillo. Beverly was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt who devoted time, love, and prayer to her family. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband Scott Templeton of Peoria; daughter Emily Templeton of Peoria; two brothers: David Dean of Peoria and Bill (Marsha) Dean of Oklahoma; two sisters: Diane (Jerry) Lechner of Washington, IL, and Gail (Fred) Weghorst of Metamora; mother-in-law Pat Moore of East Peoria. She loved and was so proud of her 7 nieces and nephews: Brett Dean, Matthew Dean, Monica Tryner, Carrie Scott, Murray Dean, Natalie Christian and Jeremy Laws.Â
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Roland Moore and one nephew Brian Laws.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022 between the hours of 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM with an additional visitation 30 minutes prior to mass. Franciscan Friars will officiate, and burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Pekin at a later date.
Memorials in Beverly’s memory may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Peoria Cursillo or Community Workshop & Training Center (CWTC).Â
