Obituary for Beulah Dolores Peters

PEORIA – Beulah Dolores Peters, 101, of Peoria passed away at 9:29 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Maple Lawn in Eureka.

Beulah was born on July 22, 1914, in Lomax, Ill., to John and Ethel (Van Doren) Huntley. She married Julian Peters on Aug. 26, 1933, at St. Mary’s Cathedral. He preceded her in death in April 2002.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Gladys, Vivian, Eunice, and Eva Louise.

She is survived by one son, Julian (Karin) Peters of Metamora; one daughter, Donna Jean (Bob) Swearingen of Clinton, Ill.; one sister, Frances Clark; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, & great-great-grandchildren.

Beulah worked in a steel office as a draftsman at LeTourneau during World War II.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, the VFW in Chillicothe, and AMVETS #64, where she was a life member and a past president.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary.
James Thomason will officiate. Entombment will be in Swan Lake Mausoleum.
