Obituary for Bernice "Bunny" White
Pekin- Bernice Unity “Bunny” White, age 95, was taken home by the angels to be with Jesus at 12:45 PM, Monday, October 31, 2016 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin, IL.
Born July 13, 1921 in Peoria, IL, a daughter of Hervey and Dessie Manker Harris. Bernice was married to Donald F. White for 65 years. He preceded her in death along with her parents, one daughter; Susan Ogle Ahten, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by one son; Don (Helen) White of Palos Hills, IL, one daughter; Joyce Needham of Dunlap, IL, one sister; Dessie Neuendorf of Tempe, AZ, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Bernice enjoyed nature, hiking, crossword puzzles and keeping up with world affairs. She received the Outstanding Volunteer Service Award from Forest Park Nature Center. She leaves a legacy of wisdom, sharing, and loving Jesus, as she did, and was a precious blessing to her family and friends.
A huge thank you to the angels at John Evans and Hallmark House in Pekin for their care of our mother.
Private family visitation will be on Friday. Cremation rites have been accorded.
