Obituary for Bernard "Pat" Knox

PEORIA - Bernard Patrick “Pat” Knox, 80, of Peoria, died on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 3:55 p.m. at Cornerstone Nursing Home, formerly OSF St. Clare Home. He was born on October 13, 1932 in Peoria to Joseph Patrick and Julia Catherine (DeMinck) Knox. Pat was a graduate of Spalding High School. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956, stationed on the USS Waxsaw. Pat worked as a pressman for International Paper for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He was a longstanding member of both the Peoria and Galesburg Symphonies. He was also a loyal St. Louis Cardinal fan. He is survived by his sister, Carole (Gerald) Dunne of Brimfield; his aunts, Rita Howe of Peoria and Bernice Knox of Decatur; his sister-in-law, Carol Knox of Dunlap; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Norman Knox; and sister and brother in law, Barbara and Dale Little. A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Monday at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel with Deacon Stephen Racki III officiating. Visitation will be a half hour prior to the service at the Mausoleum. Entombment will follow the services. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Peoria Notre Dame High School or Holy Family Grade School.
