Obituary for Bernadine "Bunny" Van Heule
Peoria- Bernadine “Bunny” Van Heule, age 91, of Peoria, passed away 2:31 AM, Monday, May 1, 2017 at Pekin Manor.
Born June 24, 1925 in Chicago, a daughter of Frank and Anna (Koziol) Schneider. Her parents precede her in death. She married Robert A. Van Heule on September 6, 1947 in Chicago, he died on February 24, 1988, while vacationing in Sarasota, FL.
Bunny is survived by one son; Gary Van Heule of Tarpon Springs, FL., one daughter; Dawn (Brian) Eastman of Chatham, IL., four grandchildren, Jason and Eric Van Heule and Robert and Jill Eastman, and three great-grandchildren; Landon, Logan, and Lexa Van Heule.
Bunny was a graduate of Northwestern University and a member of the Alumnae Group. She was also a member of Delta Zeta Sorority and past president of the Alumnae Group in Peoria. She was a charter member of the Peoria Junior Women’s Club and a member and past president of the Peoria Area Alumnae Panhellenic Group. Bunny was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church, its Ladies Guild, and the Catholic Women’s League. She was a former member of Mt. Hawley Country Club and played in their women’s 9 hole golf league.
She enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing bridge, and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed spending the fall and winter months in Sarasota, Fl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Resurrection Mausoleum Chapel with a 30 minute prior visitation. Father David Richardson will officiate. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
