Obituary for Alvina "Vi" Jenn

DUNLAP – Alvina “Vi” Jenn, 92, of Dunlap died at 10:27 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Lutheran Hillside Village. Born Alvina Kiesewetter on Nov. 23, 1923, in Metamora, Ill., to the late Frank and Catherine (Adams) Kiesewetter, she married Harold A. Jenn on Nov. 16, 1948, at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church. He survives. She is also survived by four children, Steve of Atlanta, Ga., Tom (Donetta) of Peoria, Sharon (Tom) Baldwin of New Fairfield, Conn., and Leann (Jason) Cors of Fort Worth. Tex.; eight grandchildren, Jessica Giles, David Jenn, Brian Jenn, Denise Jenn, Kevin Baldwin, Caitlin Baldwin, Samantha Beck, and Emily Becker; four great-grandchildren, Morgan and Blake Giles and Taylor and Cooper Jenn; three sisters, Alice Markiewicz of Springfield, Pa., Luella Shawhan of Peoria, and Marge (Bob) Mason of Metamora; three brothers, Harold (EmmaJo) Kiesewetter and Art (Dee) Kiesewetter both of Metamora and Herb (Phyllis) Kiesewetter of Germantown Hills. She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Kiesewetter; and one sister, Laurina Gangloff. Vi was secretary and treasurer of Jenn Realty and Jenn Development and Construction Corporation and was the bookkeeper for Jenn Realty. She was licensed as a real estate broker. One of her many talents was interior decorating. She decorated many model homes in Lake of the Woods Estates. Vi loved to play bridge, cook, and spend time with her family. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Jude Parish, where she belonged to the Women of St. Jude and the Rosary Guild. She has also been a member of the Catholic Women’s League. A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, at St. Jude Catholic Church. Father Patrick Henehan will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, also at the church, with recitation of the Rosary at 6:45 p.m. An additional visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Catholic School.
