Obituary for Alvin E. Holzer
Alvin E. Holzer, 83, of Peoria, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
Al was born on October 26, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Henry J. and Veronica (Kremer) Holzer, he married Judith Duncan on February 16, 1963 in Indianapolis. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2002 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edmund Holzer; and one son-in-law, Terry Curley.
Surviving are his four favorite daughters, Linda Curley of Danville, Beth Ann Kelley of North Augusta, South Carolina, Sandra (Donald) Carlisle of Altamonte Springs, Florida and Susie Holzer of Peoria. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Toddy Daly of Indianapolis, Indiana.
He spent his retirement volunteering for his church and in his workshop, making birdhouses and wall art for his weekly booth at the Peoria Riverfront Farmer’s market.
Visitation will be from 3-4 PM on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mt. Hawley Cemetery at a later date. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
