Obituary for Alexander "Al" W. Kott
Peoria- Alexander “Al” W. Kott, Jr., of Peoria, formerly of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 22 at 7:38p, at Fondulac Rehabilitation and Health Care Center following a brave struggle with Lewy Body Dementia.
He was born April 21, 1940 in Chicago, the son of Alexander W. Kott, Sr. and Annastasia (Churma) Kott. He is survived by the love of his life and dance partner, Erma Faye Conant of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by one son, Alexander W. Kott, III (Amy) and grandchildren Ali, Anna and Alexander W. Kott, IV. Also surviving are his three brothers: Ed (Pat) of Cromwell, Indiana, Bob Kott of Summit, Illinois and Fred (Debbie) Kott of Countryside, Illinois.
Al graduated from Argo High School and joined the Air Force. While he was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi he met his former wife Jackie Kott. After leaving the military he began his career in the computer field. He retired from Control Data Corporation as a computer technician working on super computers.
Al had a mathematical mind and kind, caring soul. He was always ready with a hug and a smile. He will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at Courtyard Estates and Fondulac for the unwavering love and care they provided for Al.
Services will be at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Peoria on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00am with a funeral mass following, officiated by Fr. Thomas Taylor. Entombment of cremains will be at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at 912 Killian Hill Road, SW in Lilburn, GA 30047 or at lbda.org/donate or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
