Obituary for Albert Schoolman
Albert W. Schoolman, 89, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL.
Albert was born on September 11, 1932 in Peoria, IL, a son of Kurt and Dora (Spiegel) Schoolman.
He proudly served in the US Army for 6 years. He worked at Cilco from 1948 until he retired as maintenance supervisor in 1994.
He married Dorothy McBride on November 16, 1958 in Peoria. He later married Dolores Geist on February 21, 1998 in Dunlap. She survives, as well as 2 sons, David Schoolman and Kenneth (Cheryl) Schoolman, both of West Peoria; 3 stepchildren, Charmaine (Chris) Pearson of Metamora, Lori Anne (Scott) Hargis of Warrenton, MO and Glenn Geist of Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Jessica and Kurt Schoolman, Noelle (Shiloh) Smith, Carter (Payton Piercy) Pearson, Tanner Hargis, Alex and Brett Geist; great-grandchildren, Juliet and Zephyr Schoolman and Victoria Geist; seven siblings, Erna Stoens of Mossville, Martha Davis of Round Lake, Anita Reed of Putnam, Ruth Barnes Erback of Kimberling City, MO, John (Joyce) Schoolman of Creve Coeur, Robert (Sharon) Schoolman of Dunlap, MaryAnn Wildman of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Esther Hensley, as well as several brother-in-laws.
Albert was a lifetime member of the New Apostolic Church. He loved to sing and was in the church choir for 50 years. He belonged to the Central Illinois Civil War Dance Society for over 11 years.
Memorial Services will be at 11 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary, with a one hour prior visitation. Pastor Paul Wurst will officiate. Burial of Ashes will take place at a later date at American Mausoleum.
