PEORIA – Robert T. Edwards, 89, of Peoria passed away at 7:44 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 at his home.

He was born July 5, 1922 in Gardner, IL to Thomas and Venice (Froggett) Edwards. He married Marian T. McGurrin on May 20, 1946 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are two sons Thomas Edwards of Bartonville and John (Julie) Edwards of Princeville; two daughters Carol (David) Scherer and Judy (Roger) Whitby both of Peoria; one son-in-law Tom Caho of Port Byron; five grandsons; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Kay Caho and one sister.

Robert was a veteran serving in the Navy during World War II. He later worked as the maintenance manager for Producers Dairy/Prairie Farms retiring in 1985.

He was a member of Teamsters Local #627 and a life member of VFW Post #2602.

Robert enjoyed playing cards and fishing and loved his garden and spending time with his family.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Wright and Salmon Mortuary. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 20 at Wright and Salmon Mortuary. Entombment will be at Swan Lake Mausoleum with full military rites.

Memorials may be made to the Msgr. Robert Livingston Fund at Peoria Notre Dame or American Cancer Society in memory of his daughter, Kay Caho.
