Arden Quinn, 81 of Peoria, passed away May 3, 2012 at home in the early morning..
She was born in Peoria, July 26, 1930 to Walter M and Lucille Jackson Applegate. She married John R. Quinn November 24, 1951 in Peoria and he survives.
Also surviving are her children, Janice (Dale) Stepanek of Stewartsville NJ, Patrice ( Michael ) Strathmeyer of Plano TX, Dr. Timothy Quinn of Rochester NH, and David (Deborah) Quinn of Germantown Hills IL., her grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael ) Tutko , Nicholas and Timothy Stepanek, Molly (Ben ) Myers, Meredith (Samuel) Worobek, Collin, Conor, Christian, Jonathan, and Erik Quinn, and three great grandchildren Ryleigh , Benji and Malina. She is also survived by one brother, W. William Applegate (Helen) of Palmetto FL, and one sister, Lynne ( Dean ) Chamberlin of Peoria. Two nieces and one nephew also survive.
Arden was a home maker and devoted her life to her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling, golf, and college sports. She was a fan of Bradley Basketball and often attended OLLI classes. Arden’s top priority in life was seeing that each of her children received a good Christian background and a college degree. She loved sports and had a large collection of golf and bowling trophies. She liked church activities, especially helping the Holy Family Mary and Martha Group planning and serving funeral meals.
She was a charter member of Holy Family Catholic Church where, over the years, she was a member and officer of several organizations. She was a member and past officer of the Catholic Women’s League.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church on Monday, 10:30 a.m, with Franciscan Friars officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. prior to the mass at the church.
Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
