PEORIA-Dale Francis Johnson, 86, of Peoria, passed away at 4:52 PM on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center.

He was born December 30, 1925 in Peoria to Henry and Drucilla Rimington Johnson. He married Clara Marie Gryp January 31, 1948 in Peoria. She passed away January 10, 2006 in Peoria. Two brothers, Harold and Henry; two infant brothers; and one son, Dale Jr. also preceded him in death. He is survived by one son, Joe of Peoria; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

He was a standards engineer at Caterpillar Tractor Company retiring in 1987.

He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Episcopal Church where he also served as Lay Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of Grandview Lodge 1112 AF&AM; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; and Mohammed Temple, Shrine. He volunteered as an escort for Methodist Hospital, Visiting Nurses Association, and Meals on Wheels.

He was a 1949 graduate of Bradley University.

A Funeral service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at his church, with Fr.Shawn Doubet officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum.
